Small hand-held monolith series
Philippa has been practising ceramics for about eight years. This current collection is a reflection of her place in the physical world, built and natural. She finds human habitats fascinating, in particular the simple tunnels, dolmens and etched menhirs of the Celtic people. Meanings attached to worked stones in ancient places such as Stonehenge, Carnac and Macchu Picchu are very special effecting a 'stillpoint' in our busy lives. Philippa also enjoys and plays with 'ambiguity', whether or not a piece is made or found and what individual pieces are made of...........transcending time!
